The Chinmaya Mission has many verticals with various organisations under it, in key service sectors for National Development. It is also recognized for its work in the fields of: 
 education,  healthcare,  environment,  youth empowerment,  culture,  study and research centres  skill development,  rural development,  disaster relief and  spiritual enlightenment. 

The Chinmaya Mission is involved in social services, including schools, colleges, university, hospitals, diagnostic centres, orphanage, old age homes, and rural village development projects.

 Recognized among the top NGOs, Chinmaya Mission has raised over ₹2.56 Crores, ranking 3rd out of 250 organizations in the Tata Mumbai Marathon

Chinmaya Organisation for Rural Development (CORD) has been the recipient of many awards, including:
  • Japanese Award for Most Innovative Development Project: CORD won first prize in this award at the Global Development Awards competition in 2015.
  • the Partnership Excellence Award on Imparting Quality Training from the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) in 2014.
  • Innovation: Non-Technology for the Nipman Foundation – Microsoft Equal Opportunity Awards 2019 for its work in the area of Community Based Inclusion and Rehabilitation of persons with disabilities.
  • Nina Sibal Memorial Award: All India Women’s Education Fund Association (AIWEFA) presented to CORD this award in 2006 for its work on “Integrated Community Based Rehabilitation work for differently-abled persons”.
  • Best Facilitator Award: CORD received this award in 2006 for its work on promoting and linking self-help groups in Sundergarh District.
  • National Women Commission Award for Women Empowerment: CORD received this award in 2002.
  • Ojaswini Award for Excellence in Service: CORD received this award in 2000.
  • Sadguru Gnanananda Award for Manav Seva Dharma Samvardhani: CORD received this award in 2005.
  • Award for Social Service by FICCI Ladies organization (2012) to CORD Siruvani.
  • Best Facilitator Award for Promotion & Linkage of Self-Help Groups in Sundergarh District from Women & Child Development Department, Odisha (2006)
 

Dr. Meera Krishna, Project Coordinator of CORD, (a gynaecologist and rural development leader) has also received several awards, including: 

Outstanding Woman Award: In March 2013, the National Commission for Women recognised her “selfless” service and honoured her with the “Outstanding Woman” award for Empowering Mahila Mandals (Magalir Mandrams) and Sustainable waste management.

Swami Chinmayananda, the Founder of Chinmaya Mission (1951-1993) has been the recipient of many awards, including: 

1992: The US magazine, Hinduism Today, conferred upon Swami Chinmayananda the Hindu Renaissance Award and the title of the “Hindu of the Year”

 

Swami Tejomayananda, the former Global Head of Chinmaya Mission (1993-2017) has been the recipient of many awards, including the following for the work done by him for Chinmaya Mission:

2004: The Gupta Award

2005: The “Hindu of the Year” award by Hinduism Today

2012: The Sri Chandrasekarendra Saraswati National Eminence Award by South Indian Education Society (SIES)

2014: The Newsmakers Broadcasting and Communication (NBC) “Newsmakers Achievers Award”

2016: The Padma Bhushan Award
