GITA JAYANTI

What is Gita Jayanti

Today is Margasheersha Shukla Ekadashi which is called मोक्षदा एकादशी (Mokshada Ekadashi). Mokshada means ‘the giver of Liberation’.

It is celebrated as Gita Jayanti, because on this day Bhagavan Sri Krishna gave the sacred knowledge of the Bhagavad Gita to Arjuna at the Kurukshetra.

Srimad Bhagavad Gita holds a very important place in our scriptures. It is said – गीता सुगीता कर्तव्या किमन्यैः शास्त्रविस्तरैः। One should study Gita properly rather than going through full expanse of the scriptures.

If Sri Krishna gave this teaching, it was Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda ji who brought it to our living room from puja room. Pujya Gurudev’s name has become synonymous with Bhagavad Gita because of His Jnana-yajnas (lecture series).

It cannot be a mere coincidence that Pujya Gurudev’s Guru Sri Swami Tapovan ji Maharaj was born on this very auspicious day and hence the day is also celebrated as Tapovan Jayanti.

It is indeed a very auspicious day of confluence of Jnana (Gita) and Vairagya (Tapovanji Maharaj), which will lead us to Moksha!

ॐ श्रीकृष्णाय नमः।
ॐ श्री तपोवन-परमगुरवे नमः।
ॐ श्री चिन्मय-सद्गुरवे नमः।

How we celebrate Gita Jayanti and Tapovan Jayanti

The most auspicious Margasheera Shukla ekadashi is celebrated as Geeta Jayanti and also it’s Parama Guru Swami Tapovanam Jayanti

Chinmaya Mission Visakhapatnam west (Ukkunagaram) celebrated in a very grand and Divine way

The day started with Maha Sankalpa with the gotram namas of all the donors, praying for their good health, prosperity and Spiritual well being.

Swamiji invoked Bhagavan Sri Krishna and Geeta Maata’s Krupa and Guru Parampara’s asirvachan on all the donors, supporters and well wishers of our project Chinmayam 108

Guru Puja to Swami Tapovanam, Shodasopachara puja to Geeta Maata spread the fragrance of vibrations all around.

After the puja , sampoorna Bhagavad Geeta Homam was performed under the guidance of Swami Raghuveerananda ji

The Homam ahuti was offered to Agni devata amidst the chanting of Bhagavad Geeta shlokas by Chinmaya Sevaks.

‏‏‎ ‎

Four rithviks captivated the audience with Vaidika Puja and Homam vidiH and enchanted the bhaktas with their Veda mantras

All attendees were blessed to offer ahuti to Agni devata

The entire day was filled with Bhakti and peace
